WALT - write a word problem from a given number sentence then solve the problem.
- 341 - 297 = 44✓
Mary had 341 shoes but she gave away 297. How many more shoes does Mary have now? ✓
341 - 297 = 44✓
340 - 290 = 50
50 - 7 = 43
43 + 1 = 44 shoes altogether.✓
2. 224 + 977 = 1201 ✓
Kate has 224 lollies then her friend gave her 977 more lollies. How many does her have altogether. ✓
224 + 977 = 1201 ✓
200 + 900 = 1100
20 + 70 = 90
4 + 7 = 11
1100 + 90 = 1190 + 11 = 1201 lollies altogether. ✓
3. 28 7 = 4 because 4 x 7 = 28 ✓
Maggie baked 28 cookies but she shared it with 7 of her friends. How many do they each get. ✓

Ashley 10 boxes filled with 12 legos. How much legos does she have altogether. ✓

Chase bough 34 car toys to share with his 2 brothers. So Chase decided to give them the same amount of car toys. How many does they have as a same amount of toy cars. ✓
½ of 34 = 17 toy cars altogether. ✓
½ of 30 = 15
½ of 4 = 2
so then 15 + 2 = to 17 toy cars altogether. ✓
