WALT - write a word problem from a given number sentence then solve the problem.

1.  341 - 297 = 44✓

Mary had 341 shoes but she gave away 297. How many more shoes does Mary have now?  ✓

341 - 297 = 44✓

340 - 290 = 50  

50 - 7 = 43

43 + 1 = 44 shoes altogether.✓

2. 224 + 977 = 1201  ✓

   

Kate has 224 lollies then her friend gave her 977 more lollies. How many does her have altogether.   ✓

224 + 977 = 1201 ✓

200 + 900 = 1100

20 + 70 = 90

4 + 7 = 11

1100 + 90 = 1190 + 11 = 1201 lollies altogether.   ✓

3. 28 7 = 4 because 4 x 7 = 28 ✓

Maggie baked 28 cookies but she shared it with 7 of her friends. How many do they each get. ✓

4. 12 x 10 = 120 ✓

Ashley 10 boxes filled with 12 legos. How much legos does she have altogether. ✓

12 x 10 = 120 ✓

10 x 10 = 100

2 x 10 = 20

100 x 20 = 120 legos altogether. ✓

5. ½ of 34 =  17 ✓

Chase bough 34 car toys to share with his 2 brothers. So Chase decided to give them the same amount of car toys. How many does they have as a same amount of toy cars. ✓

½ of 34 = 17 toy cars altogether. ✓

½ of 30 = 15

½ of 4 = 2

so then 15 + 2 = to 17 toy cars altogether. ✓

My Disaster Day or Night

When I woke up this morning I couldn't believe my eyes. Then as I  walked to the kitchen I suddenly bumped into the wall when I came out of my bedroom. Next as I fell down to the ground I felt the ground rumble. When it was shaking I felt really scared and ran around. But when it stopped I bumped into a chair and it looked like I was knocked out. After that my parents woke up and saw me on the floor as they saw me they lift me up and put me gently back onto my bed. Later when I woke up I felt so better but when I went to go and see my parents they were gone. Then a few minutes later that I couldn't find them I ran up stairs to the living room. Then all a sudden I could hear a beeping noise coming from the telephone. Next as I was going to press the button I thought who might that be speaking. When I was thinking about that I said to myself that it might be my parents so as I pressed it at first I did not get the sound. But when it came to the end of the message then the person said her name it was an women which was my Aunt. She said that my parents were with her. So for the really 2 hour long talk my Aunt warned me to not open any doors so I agreed to listen. So as I was going to press end message I heard a knock on the door. Then a few seconds later I said that it has gotta be my parents. But as I had just remembered I was just thinking that my Aunt just said that to don’t open the doors. But later I went to a window where I could see the front yard as I took a peek I saw a stranger so I rushed upstairs and locked all of the windows and doors then went to my bedroom next I jumped on my bed I was really frightened I also was scared to go and ring my family members but as I went to my bedroom I jumped on my bed and went to cover myself under the warm blankets. As I was scared I fell to sleep but then it came to morning and as I was going to have my breakfast I quickly looked outside to see if that person was gone so as I took a peek there was no one but I saw a car come in and guess what it was my parents plus my Aunt. But while they were back we all forgot about the past and went out for a family night out. As we went to a place called valentine I saw all the people at school which is my friends and others and all my family members.
